on my loom

Im giving looming a go at the moment, I have started on an afghan (yet again!) I am using 2 strands of 8ply yarn in light blue and dark blue. I am hoping that it will come out fine I guess that once it is a good size, I can crochet along the sides of it to make it longer if need be. I hope that this is quicker and I will be able to get it done before Christmas...im aiming for 4 weeks on this project. Fingers crossed.

On my hooks
quickie ripple afgan might be frogging it not sure yet
swan doily

Off my hook
tunisian cloth for hubby to oil his catchers mitten and glove with.

WIMs - Too many to mention and growing!

Exchange success

I know that it might be a bit to early to say this...but I think that the Crochet Exchange International group is going to be a success. Already we have 18 members with many of them signing up for the different exchanges, and some have already started contacting their partners and doing their crochet items. I am really looking forward to seeing what our members make for each other. :)

Crochet Exchange International

A few days ago, I created a new yahoo group, Crochet Exchange International, so those of us who are interested in exchanging crochet items with other members, as we weren't getting it from other areas. So far today we have 17 members including me. So I would say that the group is a success so far. I hope that soon, we can start assigning partners for the exchanges and get to work on them. Here is the link to join the group if you are interested.

Japanese Karaoke

When I was living in Japan, I used to watch these guys on TV all the time. I really miss Japanese television especially their dramas and comedies!!!

Jiji, Baba and Miles

This is Tetsuko and Kenji, my parents-in-law. Kenji, has now retired, so they are now going around Japan enjoying themselves.
Miles is the apple of their eyes, as he is their first grandchild. Miles calls them Jiji and Baba. We miss them a lot, and hopefully next year we will go and visit them again.
This is Miles, on Thursday, his ChildCare center had photos taken, so I dressed him up in his Japanese summer outfit for the photo. I hope his Grandparents in Japan like the photos when we send them over to them.

On my hook

I thought that I should do an On my hook for this month.
I am making a Quickie Ripple from crochetville, its working up great, although I have gone to working through the loops and not the back loops.

I am also still working on the Christening Gown from Tots and Toddlers Knit and Crocheting. Its coming along alright, so I hope to get the bolice finished soon, and then start working on the sleeves and the skirt (which would take a time I think).

Japanese comedy

Not for the faint hearted...very funny though! I was laughing so hard that my body hurts!

Morning Musume

When I was living in Japan, this was such a popular song, especially in Karaoke! A friend of ours would sing out his heart when he sang it. So you can imagine how many times our friend had to sing it, with and without beer!!

Making own hook

Yesterday, my DH, son and myself headed to Toowoomba for softball, but since DH wasnt listening to me, he didnt hear me telling him that softball was forfeited this week and probably next! Which is a good thing too, as I get to go shopping!!!! We went to Bunnings warehouse, a big hardware store, and I picked up a dowel, and round bun and a little handsaw. So that I can make my own afghan hook. It will be a nice big hook too!!!!

Also when I was out, I found 2 crochet magazines, Crochet Today and another one that came with a knit magazine, some cute patterns in there.

Also found out that my son suffers from hayfever! It is terrible, as we live on a plant nursery and my parents are plant happy! Our place is very green, and we have a lot of wildlife, inside and outside of the house. ;) I dont mind the frogs in the bathroom, but mum sure does!

I am placing some of my projects on hold, so that I can get started on some Christmas gifts. I am about 1/4 of the way through the back panel of the swing jacket, so I dont know if I should stop or continue on with it. I will have to wait and see.
